The Geospatial Training and Application Center (GTAC) at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center was designed specifically to bridge the gap between the research/developers and end users in the area of spatial technology research and product development.

GTAC conducts field-based, hands-on, interactive training that immerses participants into the practical applications of the geospatial technologies by utilizing GPS, GIS, remote sensing, and communications in a project/mission-based environment to solve real-world challenges.  Some areas include:

Homeland Security
Emergency Response
Urban and Regional Planning
Environmental Systems
Natural Resource Management
Transportation Planning
Health and Human Services
Public Safety
Land Use Planning

GTAC’s mission is to better educate the public and inspire them with the real-life applications of these technologies; GTAC provides a vendor-neutral environment combined with engaging subject matter experts and educational presentations to bring geospatial technologies to life.  GTAC strives to educate and support the development of a trained workforce to populate the geospatial industry for the 21st century.
