The Geospatial Training and Application Center (GTAC) at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center was designed specifically to bridge the gap between the research/developers and end users in the area of spatial technology research and product development. GTAC conducts field-based, hands-on, interactive training that immerses participants into the practical applications of the geospatial technologies by utilizing GPS, GIS, remote sensing, and communications in a project/mission-based environment to solve real-world challenges. Some areas include:
GTAC’s mission is to better educate the public and inspire them with the real-life applications of these technologies; GTAC provides a vendor-neutral environment combined with engaging subject matter experts and educational presentations to bring geospatial technologies to life. GTAC strives to educate and support the development of a trained workforce to populate the geospatial industry for the 21st century.
